In addition to all the great prizes awarded at the Volunteer Party, there’s another incentive to volunteer on the bike course: All bike course volunteers (over the age of 19) will be entered into a draw for a prize provided by Tree Brewing: Beer for a Year!
As a volunteer on the bike course, you see first hand the speed the cyclists are going at as well as the cornering. It’s exciting! The course on Saturday is compact but the same for all racers: Kids of Steel, Try-a-Tri athletes and Junior Elites. The only difference is the number of lap each athlete will complete.
Volunteers are needed on Saturday from 6:30 am to about 11:30 am. Check out the
Saturday bike course map:

On Sunday, the bike course accommodates more races: age group Sprint and Olympic distance in the morning, and Elites in the afternoon.
Cyclists travel from downtown Kelowna, part way up Knox Mountain, through Glenmore and back to the Dolphins downtown.
Volunteers are needed for shifts between 6:00 am and 3:30 pm. Here is a link to the Sunday bike course maps:

The Apple Triathlon bike course is a closed course (no traffic is allowed) so having a good group of bike course marshals is vital to helping local traffic navigate the traffic pattern though downtown and Glenmore.
If you have a few hours to spare on the weekend of Aug 18-19, please join us as a volunteer at the 2012 Pushor Mitchell Kelowna Apple Triathlon!
Reserve your position(s) today at http://volunteer.appletriathlon.com.
