Road Closures Detours

More than 1750 athletes and 900 volunteers will make this years Apple Triathlon the largest in it's history and possibly the largest in Canadian history.  Thats the good news.

The bad news is a number of streets in Glenmore , and downtown Kelowna will experience closures, detours and delays during race day.

If you are a boat owner the downtown boat launches near the Delta Grand Hotel, and the boat launch in Sutherland Park near Knox Mountain will be closed as well.

If your area will be affected make sure to check the bottom of the  Apple Triathlon website race support page for details, maps the times.

Plan your travel time now so you can make the most of the weekend!

Triathlon Open House in Glenmore

The Kelowna Apple Triathlon Society (KATS) is hosting the 28th annual Pushor Mitchell Kelowna Apple Triathlon and Canadian National Championships once again this year from August 20-22

Unfortunately traffic delays and road detours on are to be expected on the Triathlon weekend, especially for residents in the old Glenmore and Clifton areas on Sunday, August 22.

To help better address the needs of local residences the KATS organizing committee will be holding an open house this week.

Give your input, and help us identify ways of minimizing the inconvenience to residents, while promoting the safety of all road users including competitors, marshals, supporters and onlookers, throughout the event.

Come join us at the Glenmore Elementary School, to consult with residents, and to respond to questions, on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 6:30-8:00 pm.

Your input and support is greatly appreciated!
