Elite Race Volunteers Needed

Elite races are drawing larger crowds,
many more volunteer positions still need to be filled -

Kelowna, BC

The Pushor Mitchell Kelowna Apple Triathlon, scheduled for August 18-19, 2012, is once again attracting an international field of competitors for its Elite races. So far, 30 males Elite triathletes from 5 different countries as well as 15 female Elite triathletes from 3 different countries are signed up to race in Kelowna. This is very impressive considering it is an Olympic year.

Among these Elite athletes are Olympians and Kelowna’s own Brent McMahon & William Dean, as well as the famed Olympian Simon Whitfield who will be participating again in Kelowna this summer.

In addition to the exciting elite and junior elite races, the weekend’s other events include Sprint and Olympic distance triathlons, the Kids of Steel races, a Try a Tri, the Gennext Aquathon and other events and camps. These events on race weekend are only possible with incredible community and volunteer support.

To once again bring these exciting races and events to our community, many volunteers are still needed. This event is a not-for-profit event and is organized and run entirely by volunteers.

Please consider giving back to your community by donating some of your time. Various positions and shifts are available to suit your schedule. Please visit us online at www.appletriathlon.com.
