The Kelowna Apple Triathlon Society will be hosting the Canadian National Championships on August 21, 22 and 23 this year. Volunteers are required to fill more than 1 000 positions. The Kelowna Apple Triathlon was Simon Whitfield’s first national event. Simon has since gone on to win Olympic Gold and Silver medals for Canada at the Olympics.
Richard Montgomery, President of the Kelowna Apple Triathlon Society (KATS) says: “It is important to show the rest of Canada and the world that the Okanagan Valley is one of the most scenic venues for a triathlon event in the world.” A variety of volunteer positions are available, including bike and run course marshals, set-up and take-down, security, body-marking, finish line duties and assistance to disabled athletes”.
Volunteers will receive an event volunteer manual, a complimentary volunteer t-shirt, food, and a fun-filled post-race volunteer appreciation party and many exciting draw prizes.
