The Pushor Mitchell Kelowna Apple Triathlon provides the perfect opportunity with this years Business Challenge Sprint Relay, sponsored by The Blenz Coffee Company , on Sunday, August 22, 2010.
Enjoy the warm waters of Lake Okanagan and race through the streets of Kelowna on a morning of fun, fitness, and friendly competition. Also watch Canada’s top triathletes compete after this race in the Canadian National Triathlon Championships.
All you have to do is get together a three-person team: one swimmer, one cyclist and a runner, and challenge other organizations or your colleagues! Co-workers, friends, family or associates can participate under a business name. Teams are not limited to corporations, and can include associations, organisations, clubs and societies.
Ideally, the 3-person teams will have both male and female members. The Business Challenge Sprint Relay will start with a 750m swim at Tugboat beach, followed by a 20km bike ride through downtown Kelowna and completes with a 5km run through the downtown area and along the lake. Use this opportunity to build team spirit or to show your competitors what you’re made of! Show your team spirit in what you wear!
Steve Coulthard, owner of the downtown Blenz, and a previous participant, says there is no need for any extra training to complete the course. Steve says they have plans to enter two teams this year, aiming to win the much coveted Corporate Cup. In addition to the Cup each participant in the Business Challenge Sprint Relay will receive a limited edition coffee mug to keep for their desk.
Steve also extended a challenge to other businesses “My Highly caffinated team challenging the rest of the downtown businesses to try and beat us if they dare. “
